Undoubtedly, your Signature Themes (your "top five") are the best place to start. As we described in Now, Discover Your Strengths, the combination of themes in your top five is unique. Considering differences in the order of themes, there are more than 33 million different combinations of Signature Themes -- so the chances of you bumping into your exact match are very slight. Your main challenge, therefore, is to take time to ponder the intricacies of your unique combination, and to think through how it can best be refined with skills and knowledge to create powerful, productive strengths.
However, even knowing this, you might feel that some of the other themes are just as strong as your top five. Or perhaps you find yourself in a role that actually requires you to apply talents not represented by your top five. In either case, we advise you to read through the descriptions of the remaining 29 themes, and to identify talents you think you can cultivate. Remember that the chief purpose of he Clifton StrengthsFinder is not to anoint you with your top five. Rather, its main purpose is to encourage you to take a step back from yourself and answer the question: "In what areas do I have the greatest potential for sustained excellence?" The Signature Themes identified by the Clifton StrengthsFinder are our best answer to this question. However, your own self-reflection might well yield other answers, other areas of real promise. Good. Whatever answers you arrive at, the most important thing is that the themes you choose to focus on feel authentic to you, and that, daily, you take full responsibility for building your talents into strengths.
